好消息来得太突然了。 南加州到Las Vegas的高铁说了10来年没有结果。 但自去年8月份联邦交通部给了$24million后,两个月前,Baidu在Las Vegas 宣布,联邦同意给予该项目$3billion, 也就是$30亿美元grant,以正式用于今年正式动工的这条美国唯一的“真正的高铁”项目。

1月16日,负责这一工程的brightline west 在内华达州境内的 FIELD WORK 已经 PREPARATION FOR GROUNDBREAKING; 而在1月23日,BRIGHTLINE WEST LAUNCHES FIELD WORK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA IN PREPARATION FOR GROUNDBREAKING. 也就是说,不日,该工程将正式分两头全面破土动工。



Brighline West 宣布,这一耗时4年的高铁工程, 是美国历史上真正的高铁项目,最高时速可达每小时200 Miles,从Rancho Cucamonga 到 Las Vegas,中间有 Hesperia,Victor Valley 两个经停站。全长218 miles, 需要2小时10分钟。 计划分4年完成全部 $120 亿美元 (12 billion)投资,到2028年洛杉矶奥运会前正式建成通车。

如是说来,早上7点坐高铁从南加州到Las Vegas 上班,或者5点下班后从南加州坐高铁去Las Vegas 试试手气并于当晚赶回应当不是梦想了。

当然了,接下来几年,加州境内经靠区域内的洛杉北麓房价估计会被严重冲击。

Near Shovel-Ready

Brightline West will be America’s first true high-speed passenger rail system. The modern, eco-friendly system will redefine train travel in America and connect two of our most iconic destinations: Las Vegas and Southern California.

This 218-mile passenger rail service will operate from Las Vegas to Rancho Cucamonga, California, with 96% of its alignment within the median of the I-15 highway.

Today, nearly 50 million annual trips occur between Los Angeles and Las Vegas - over 85% of them by car - a trip which is unpredictable, unreliable and challenged by congestion. Brightline West expects to serve more than 11 million one-way passengers annually.
