Manufacturing Software Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION
ABOUT THE KX LAB:
The KX Lab is the first-ever fully transparent, community-minded high-tech footwear manufacturing facility in Los Angeles. Focused specifically on knit footwear and apparel, the 36,000SF facility combines production, R&D, showroom, and retail all under one roof. The goal of this radical new model for manufacturing is to bring consumers, products and the people that make them closer together. Visit our website here. The KX Lab will be the Company's first US factory, a prototype for larger facilities currently being planned in cities across the country and around the world.
JOB OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Director of Operations and working in partnership with our Asia-based IT affiliate, the Manufacturing Software Engineer will design, develop, maintain, test, and evaluate the software technology stack that supports the operations of our footwear manufacturing plant. They will be responsible for completing the setup of the Company’s business process management systems (ERP, WMS, etc.) and facilitating adoption across the organization. In this role, they will interface with development, operations, supply chain, accounting, and management professionals to continuously improve and optimize software-related processes with the goal of further enhancing efficiency and enabling faster data-driven decision making. Their skills, versatility and focus on continuous improvement make them integral to the day-to-day productivity, quality, and safety of the manufacturing operations.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
● Implement and maintain the Company’s business process management systems
● Establish best practices, standard operating procedures, and system audit protocols
● Train and support cross-functional teams on the use of ERP and other systems
● Continuously test, debug, and troubleshoot manufacturing software
● Identify and develop innovative software solutions to meet the Company’s future needs
● Provide regular project status updates to key members of the local and affiliate teams
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bilingual. Must speak, write, and read both English and Mandarin
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science or software engineering
• 5 year’s experience executing and monitoring manufacturing BPM systems
• Proven success in IT-related project management, collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Mastery of relevant programming languages (Java preferred, SQL, etc.) and database management (Oracle, MS SQL)
• Experience in a full software development lifecycle
